Mary Elizabeth Lowe Summers

GREENSBORO - Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Lowe Summers, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at McConnell Road Baptist Church and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other tmes at the home.

Obituary for Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Lowe Summers

Greensboro-Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Lowe Summers, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. She was a native of Guilford County and the wife the late John Daniel Lacy Summers. She was the daughter of the late David William Lowe, Sr. and Bertha Annie Tate Lowe.
Lib retired after 26 years with Vicks/Proctor and Gamble. She was a longtime member of McConnell Road Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Lib was devoted to her family and her church.
She is survived by her son, Jodie L. Summers of the home and his fiancée, Bonnie Murrell of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Brandon Michael Summers and wife, Isabel of Georgia and Amanda Rochelle Summers of New York; sister-in-law, Jane Lowe of Seven Lakes, NC and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, David Wayne Summers and five brothers, Dave, Jim, Otis, Oscar and Andy Lowe.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00am at McConnell Road Baptist Church by Rev. Matthew Tilley and Rev. Vance Lowe and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
