Beatrice Rainey Walker 
    LEXINGTON — Beatrice Rainey Walker  died on Friday, March 17, 2006. She was born in Alamance County, daughter of the late Robert Williamson "Bob" Rainey  Sr. and the late Annie King Rainey , and was married to the late Melvin Elmo Walker  Sr.
    She worked for 15 years for the Baptist Children’s Home of N.C. at Mills Home and Kennedy Home Campuses. She retired in 1992 as office administrator at Camp Dogwood for the Blind at Sherrills Ford, N.C. and was a member of the Union Ridge Church.
    She is survived by daughters, Amy Sue Walker  of Burlington, June Walker  Honeycutt of Lexington, and Deborah Walker  Parker of Morehead City; son, Melvin E. Walker  Jr. of Hickory; six grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; four sisters, Nellie "Polly" Dixon, Wilma Hurdle, and Mary Lou Bolick, all of Burlington, and Dot Rainey  Harcum of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and two brothers, H. Dean Rainey  of Burlington and Dewey Lee Rainey  of Mebane.
    She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and five brothers, William H. "Bill" Rainey , Paul King "P.K." Rainey , R. W. "Dub" Rainey  Jr., Charlie "Red" Rainey , and John M. "Mack" Rainey .
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Union Ridge Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
    Memorials may be made to Rainey  Family Scholarship Fund, c/o Union Ridge Church, 115 Altamahaw-Union Ridge Road, Burlington, N.C. 27217 or to Camp Dogwood Wish Fund, P.O. Box 39, Sherrills Ford, N.C. 28673.
