Dorothy  "Dot" Rainey Harcum 


    MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Dorothy  "Dot" Rainey Harcum , 73, of Myrtle Beach, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at her home.
    A native of Burlington, she was the wife of Milton S. Harcum , who survives, and the daughter of the late Robert W. and Annie King Rainey. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach, and was a loving wife of 51 years, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy.
    Survivors other than her husband of the home include two daughters, Anne H. Myers and husband, Kevin, of Kernersville and Kathy H. Hinson and husband, Charles, of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Katie Courtney, Chase Hinton, and Charles and Caroline Roberts; two stepgrandchildren, Kevin and Kristin Myers; two brothers, Dean Rainey and wife, Libby, of Burlington and Dewey Rainey and wife, Anna, of Mebane; and sisters, Polly Dixon, Mary Lou Bolick, and Wilma Hurdle, all of Burlington.
    She was preceded in death by a sister, Bea R. Walker; and brothers, Bill Rainey, R.W. Rainey Jr., Mack Rainey, P.K. Rainey, and Edward Rainey.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 6, 2006, at First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach by the Rev. Ken Timmerman, the Rev. Tom Brittain, and the Rev. Scarlet Tanner-Hester. Burial will be in Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery.

    Arrangements are by McMillian-Small Funeral Home, Myrtle Beach.
