Marion L. “Johnnie” Metcalf Moorefield, 90, of Burlington passed away at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 2:50 a.m.
 
A native of Gaston County, she was the wife of the late Herbert Bailey Moorefield and the daughter of Lewis Hoyt Metcalf and Dora Rabb Metcalf, both deceased. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the First Baptist Church of Graham.
 
Survivors include a son, John Moorefield and his wife Darlene of Oviedo, FL and granddaughter, Jessica Lauren Moorefield of Florida State University, along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents,  she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rita Louise Moorefield and her siblings, Gaynelle Wire, Betty Knighten, Sue Holbrook, George Herman Metcalf and Albertus Rabb.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Graham on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. Chris Howe. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
 
The family will return to the Family Life Center of the First Baptist Church of Graham immediately following the committal service to share in and celebrate the life of Johnnie Moorefield.
