William Childress
William Childress Jr., 72, of 127 Veterans Drive, Rt. 7, Burlington, died unexpectedly at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday at his home.
A native of Virginia, he was the son of the late William Childress Sr. and Bennie Faucette Childress.
He was a retired electrician with Caldwell Electric Company and was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are: wife, Mrs. Della Key Childress of the home; daughters, Mrs. Violet Childress Colwell of Knightdale and Mrs. Kattie L. Willoughby of Elon College; sister, Mrs. Minnie Ferrell of Reidsville; brother, Charlie Childress of Fieldale, Va.; half-brother, Leonard Childress of Eden; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Final rites will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Worth Watts, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at noon Friday at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington and the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. 470, William Childress
