SUMMERFIELD -- Mr. James Randall Summers, 92, died Sunday morning august 28, 2005 at Countryside Manor.
A graveside service for Mr. Summers will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Lakeview Memorial Park.
A Guilford County native, Mr. Summers was born on sept. 12, 1912 the son of the late A. J. and Ethel Rankin Summers.
He was a dairy farmer and had been employed by both Cone Mills and Bates Nitewear. Mr. Summers served his country during World War II in the U. S. Army.
He was a member of Browns Summit United Methodist Church, and he enjoyed gardening and reading. He will be greatly missed by his family. His wife, Mrs. Evelyn Brim Summers, died in 2002.
Surviving are his son Joe Williams and his wife Ritter of Summerfield; two sisters, Virginia Summers of Greensboro and Mary Davidson of Asheville; five grandchildren and their spouses, Marti and Johnny Hyatt, Sheila and Jeff McCraw, Christi and Jeff Shropshire, Randall and Chancy Williams and Ted and Aleta Jones; and eight great-grandchildren, Dianna Beaver, Amber and Bryson Williams; Amber and Ashley McCraw, Jacob and Joseph Hyatt,Taylor and Katelyn Shropshire and Bryson Williams; and special niece Kay Pope and her husband Jimmy, Tina, J.r., and Luke Barham, and Jeremy and Kristi Pope.
