Leo  W Foust 
    BURLINGTON — On January 12, 2006, Leo  W Foust , 86, passed away peacefully at the Twin Lakes Center in Burlington, N.C.
    A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Holly Grove Lutheran Church cemetery in Lexington, N.C. Military honors will be given by American Legion Post #1097. A memorial service will follow at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at The Lutheran Church of Our Father on Groometown Road in Greensboro, N.C. The Rev. Henry Sink will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
    Leo  was born on August 8, 1919, in Davidson County, to the late William Alfred and Olivia Miller Foust . He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in Australia and New Guinea. He retired from Thompson-Arthur Paving Company/APAC and was a former owner of Foust  Brothers Trucking Company Inc. He was president of the N.C. Dump Truckers Association for many years. Leo  was a charter member of The Lutheran Church of Our Father and was the first chairman of the church council, which he served on for many years. He also served on the N.C. Synod Campus Ministry Committee and was a member of American Legion Post #1097 in Danville, Va.
    In addition to his parents, Leo  was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Jeanie Kepley Foust ; and two brothers, Jack and Carl Foust .
    Surviving Leo  are his two daughters, Sherry Foust  Mims and husband, the Rev. Dr. Bill Newton, and Lisa Foust  Moore and husband, Frank, of Greensboro; a son, Jeffrey D. Foust  and wife, Linda, of Danville, Va.; sister, Maurice Peace of Burlington; a brother, W.A. Foust  Jr. of Greensboro; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Lutheran Church of Our Father, 3304 Groometown Road, Greensboro, N.C. 27407 or Lutheridge Camping and Conference Center, 2049 Upper Laurel Drive, Arden, N.C. 28704.
