Mable  Shoe Inge 

    BURLINGTON — Mable  Shoe Inge , age 89, formerly of Venie Street, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 4, 2005, at Liberty Commons. She was a native of Alamance County, and the wife of the late Morris Elmo Inge .

    Mable  was employed for several years at May Hosiery Mill and later retired after 40 years with J. Spencer Love. She was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Elon, a member of the Wesleyan Sunday school class and the United Methodist Women. Mable  enjoyed cooking, reading good books, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
    
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jesse "Jake" Long of Burlington; grandchildren and spouses, Tracy and Ray Gilliam of Burlington and Brian and Melissa Long of Stoney Creek; great-grandchildren, Carmen and Lindsay Gilliam, Amanda and Delaney Long; sisters and brothers-inlaw, Myrtle S. Inge  of Burlington, Christine S. and Charles Teague of Elon, Evelyn S. and Wilton Wheeley of Durham, Barbara S. and Leonard "Junior" Saunders Jr. of Burlington.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lee and Emily May Sharpe Shoe; brothers, Louis H. Shoe, C. Elmo Shoe, and John Anderson Shoe Sr.

    The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Liberty Commons Nursing Center for the care and compassion given to their mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother.

    The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Terry Huffines, and assisted by the Rev. Ben Bishop.

Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home, and other times at the home of the daughter, 404 Orange Drive, Burlington, N.C.
