January 18, 1939 ~ December 14, 2019 (age 80)
Ruth Moore Rainey, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 18, 1939 in Alamance County to the late Josh and Alma Moore and was married to the late P.K. Rainey.
She was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Altamahaw-Ossipee School. She was the owner/operator of McCray Grill and McCray Comfort Inn for over 30 years. Ruth loved serving her community and serving the Lord. She attended Union Ridge Church.
She is survived by her sons, Rickey Rainey (Sherrie), Paul Rainey (Stacey); granddaughters, Brianna “Brie” Rainey and Tyler G. Rainey; sister, Shirley Mize and lifelong friend and caregiver, Janice K. Allison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Larry Moore, Ronald Moore, Sr. and Jerry W. Moore.
The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 16, 2019 at Union Ridge Church by Rev. Dan Ficklin with interment to follow in McCray Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 PM prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
