July 30, 1935 ~ February 23, 2022 (age 86)
Burlington, Shirley Ann Mize, 86 of Burlington passed away peacefully on February 23, 2022 at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home.
Shirley was born in Alamance County on July 30, 1935 a daughter of the late Josh Moore and Alma Sutton Moore Gilliam.
She was a graduate of AO High School and worked as a beautician for many years at Vi-Dell Beauty Salon in Graham. Shirley loved her flowers and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sons, Keith Mize, David Mize, Mark Mize and Christopher Mize. Two grandchildren, Daniel Mize and Wendy Howerton. Three brothers, Larry Moore, Ronald Moore and Rev. Jerry Moore as well as a sister Ruth Rainey.
Surviving are three children, Dianne Aldridge (Carl), Darlene Barnes (Richard) and Stephen "Michael" Mize; sixteen grandchildren; thirty one great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 am until 1 pm prior to the service at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory.
