Paul Wayne Duckworth, age 78, of McHone Road in Spruce Pine went home to be with the Lord Thursday June 2, 2016 at his home.
Born on April 3, 1938 in Avery County, he was the son of the late Gurnie and Brazilla Brasworth Duckworth. Wayne was predeceased by two sons; Jonathan Critcher and Dwayne Duckworth, and a grandson; Shannon Duckworth.
Wayne was a Charter Member of Temple Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Ann Duckworth of the home, sons; David Duckworth of Spruce Pine, Tony Duckworth and wife Hazel of Newport, TN and Tim Critcher of Mars Hill, NC, daughters; Hannah Moye and husband Jackie of Kinston, NC, Tonia Hughes and husband Chris of Elizabethton, TN and Grace Eggers and husband Tim of Statesville, NC, twelve grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Wayne Duckworth on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Temple Baptist Church of Newland with the Revs. Timothy Rupard and Dana Williams officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 2:00 pm until the service hour in the church.
