Myrtle Shoe Inge


    BURLINGTON — Myrtle Shoe Inge, 89, of 2716 Catherine Drive passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at UNC Hospitals after a critical illness of one week. She was born in Alamance County to the late Arthur Lee and Emily May Sharpe Shoe and was married for 60 years to the late Noel Edward Inge. She retired from the J. Spencer Love Center and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elon and the Women’s Society at the church.
    She is survived by her daughters, Emily Janette Inge Loy and Gloria Dawn Inge Campbell, both of Burlington; grandchildren, Bo Loy and his wife Meredith, Lee "Tooey" Loy, Chris DeVriend, Monica DeVriend and Tyler DeVriend; great granddaughter, Emily Paige Loy and sisters and brothers-in-law, Christine S. and Charles Teague of Elon, Evelyn S. and Wilton Wheeley of Durham and Barbara S. and Leonard E. Saunders, Jr. of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Mable S. Inge and brothers, Louis H. Shoe, C. Elmo Shoe and John A. Shoe, Sr.
    The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Elon by Rev. Terry Huffines with interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:45 Tuesday prior to the service at the church and other times at her residence.
