Julia Shatterly Combs
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Julia Shatterly Combs, 73, of 1604-E Morningside Drive, Burlington died at the Hospice Home on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 9:15 p.m. following a lengthy illness.
A native of Burlington, she was the daughter of the late George Alexander Shatterly and Julia Frances Thompson Shatterly. Mrs. Combs was formerly employed as a waitress and a certified nurse’s assistant. She was a member of Zion Christian Church.
Survivors include her son, Tim L. Combs of Raleigh; a granddaughter, Kristen B. Combs of Wilmington; and two brothers, William “Bill” Shatterly of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Raymond Shatterly of Burlington.
A graveside service will be conducted at Alamance Memorial Park on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. George M. “Jack” Phillips Jr.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
