Raymond P. Shatterly Sr.
September 26, 1938 ~ October 15, 2024 (age 86)
Raymond P. Shatterly, Sr., 86, formerly of Burlington, NC passed away at Treyburn Rehabilitation Center in Durham, NC on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of George A. Shatterly and Julia Thompson Shatterly, both deceased. He was a retired repairman for Silas & Atkins Heating and Air Conditioning and Louis Fowler Heating and Air Conditioning. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter Jennifer S. Johnson and husband Rodney of Chapel Hill; son, Raymond P. Shatterly, Jr. and wife Theresa of Graham; two grandchildren, Stacey and Patrick Langdon; three step-grandchildren, Angela Anderson, Michelle Anderson and Dawson Cassidy; one great-granddaughter, Alley Cook; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda S. Langdon; sisters, Bonnie S. Atkins, Judy Combs, Lou Davis, and Jane Rich; and brothers, Bill Shatterly, Harold Shatterly, and George Shatterly, Jr.
A graveside service will be conducted at Pine Hill Cemetery on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
