Harry  F. Byrd 


    BROWNS SUMMIT — Mr. Harry  F. Byrd , age 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday morning, August 22, 2007, at Beacon Place-Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro.
    Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2007, at Lebanon Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Wright and the Rev. Carl Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
    Harry  F. Byrd  was born in Caswell County, November 29, 1936, the son of D.A. Byrd  and Vera Walker Byrd . He was a faithful member of Lebanon Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, and was actively involved in his Sunday school class, Visitation Program and all church activities. Mr. Byrd  was a retired truck driver from W.R.E. Color Tech and a U.S. Army veteran.
    Harry  was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, D.A. Byrd  and Vera Walker Byrd , Roy, Wilbert, and Hassel Byrd ; and two sisters, Clara Pope and Edna Byrd .
    Mr. Byrd  is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Nona Lee Routh of the home; four children, Debbie James and husband, Donnie, of Reidsville, Lori Thompson and husband, Randy of Browns Summit, James P. Caruthers Jr. of Greensboro and Angela Carnell and husband, Robert, of Moore, S.C.; two sisters, Margaret Byrd  of Winston-Salem and Wilma Boone and husband, Holt, of Burlington; and a brother, Levi Byrd  of Pittsboro; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
    The family will receive friends Thursday evening August 23, 2007, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church. Online condolences may be sent to www. forbisanddick.com
