    BURLINGTON — Mary Elizabeth Lindley McCauley, of 1005 Georgetowne Drive, Elon, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011.
    Born Dec. 28, 1929, in Burlington, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Winford Lindley Sr. and Cassie Elizabeth Mattox Lindley, and the wife of the late Larry Bauman McCauley Sr.
    She was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church of Burlington, where she was a member of the Helpers Sunday School Class, The Women’s Bible Study, The Worship Committee, and The Prayer Ministry Committee.
    She was a retired employee of Elon University, where she was awarded the Elon Medallion in 2005 for loyalty and meritorious service.
    Survivors include a son, Larry Bauman McCauley Jr. and wife, Frances, of Burlington; two daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” Eileen McCauley-Jewell and husband, Lou, of Pilot Mountain and Patricia “Pat” Marie Harrison and husband, Joe, of Browns Summit; six grandchildren, Larry Bauman McCauley III and wife, Melissa, Joseph “Joe” Michael Mc-Cauley and wife, Blair, of Burlington, Jonathan McCauley Jewell of Miami, FL, Elizabeth Kathleen “Kate” Jewell of New York, N.Y., Franklin Lee Harrison of Cornelius, Ashleigh Nicole Harrison of Charlotte; and great-grandson, Larry Bauman Mc-Cauley IV (Mac); three brothers, Harvey Winford Lindley Jr. and wife, Kay, James Thomas Lindley and Jack Rogers Lindley Sr. and wife Dot; and two sisters, Frances Lindley Clapp and husband George, and Peggy Lindley Mullis, all of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Mary was recently preceded in death by a special sister-inlaw, Mary Johnston Lindley.
    A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at Front Street United Methodist Church by the Rev. Marshall Old. Following the service a private interment will be held at Magnolia Cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011.
    Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
