Mary Johnston Lindley
BURINGTON — Mrs. Mary Johnston Lindley, 80, of 2510 Pineway Drive, Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Monday, Nov. 7, 2011 at 4:55 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of J. Thomas Lindley Sr., who survives, and the daughter of C. Clyde Johnston Sr. and Ruth Bivins Johnston, both deceased. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington. Mary was an active member of the Alamance CountryClubandamemberof the Daughters of the American Revolution and Dogwood Garden Club. She presently served on the Board of the Alamance County Historical Museum.
In addition to her husband of their home, survivors include her daughter, Diane Fisher and husband Luke of Salisbury; two sons, J. Thomas “Tommy” Lindley Jr. and wife Cindy and W. Clarke Lindley, all of Burlington; two brothers, C. Clyde Johnston Jr. and wife Sue of Burlington and W. O. “Bill” Johnston and wife Dottie of North Wilkesboro; eight grandchildren, J. Thomas “Jason” Lindley III, Chelsea W. Lindley, Brent Bivins Lindley, W. Clarke “William” Lindley Jr., Cameron Lindley, Benjamin Carrol “Ben” Fisher, Mary Elizabeth “Liza” Fisher and Luke Thomas “Tom” Fisher; and two greatgrandchildren, Morgan Lindley and Keelan Lindley.
The funeral service will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. by Dr. Ronald L. Shive. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m.
