Ronnie Thurman Moore Sr.
 
 ELON — Mr. Ronnie Thurman Moore Sr., 83, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Ashton Place after several months of failing health.
 
 Born in Rockingham County, he was the son of the late Mallie R. “M.L.” Moore and the late Betty Sue Alcon Moore and was married over 65 years to the late Mary Etta Majors Moore, who passed in 2014.
 
 He and his son, Ronnie Jr., were the owners and operators of Ronnie Moore Construction from 1973 until his retirement in 1992. He was of the Christian faith.
 
 Mr. Moore is survived by his daughter, Deborah M. Ballard and husband Lewis, of Burlington; son, Ronnie T. Moore Jr. and wife Dana, of Burlington; four grandchildren, Jason Moore, Jennifer (Tom) Whaley, Chris Ballard and Ashley (Luis) Torres; two step- grandchildren, Brooks (Amee) Smith and Aulden (Kristin) Smith; six great-grandchildren; one great-stepgrandchild; a sister, Jane Bordeaux; two brothers, William Moore and Robert Moore; and many nieces and nephews.
 
 He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two sisters, Jean Hawkins and Frances Whitsell; and four brothers, Harold Dean Moore, Gerald Moore, Jimmy Moore and Latham Moore.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Troy Rushing. Entombment will follow in the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m.to 12:45 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the son’s residence.
 
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.

Ronnie owned Ronnie Moore Construction along with his son. He was married for 65 years to Mary Etta Majors. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Hawkins and Frances Whitsell; and four brothers, Harold Dean Moore, Gerald Moore, Jimmy Moore and Latham Moore.
