BURLINGTON — Mrs. Barbara Wood, 68, of 608 East Morehead Street, Burlington died at her residence on Wednesday, October 21, 2009.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Leon Norris Wood Sr. and the daughter of Allie David Wrenn and Alma Ruth Shelton Wrenn, both deceased. She was a retired employee of J. R. Tobacco Company.
Survivors include a son, Leon NorrisWood Jr. of Elon; a daughter, Donna Wood Smith of Advance; a brother, Donald Wrenn of East Bend; a sister, Theda Vancil of Burlington; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Keith Murray. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
