Mr. Max Alonzo Poole
BURLINGTON — Mr. Max Alonzo Poole , 71, of 4325 Hickory Nut Pointe, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at his home after a brief illness.
A native of High Point, Mr. Poole was the husband of Sally (Sarah) U. Poole and the son of the late Czar Poole and the late Alma Mullis Poole .
Mr. Poole was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a former member of Union Ridge United Church of Christ.
Mr. Poole was retired from McKee Bakeries and was the former owner and operator of Max’s Game Room and the Paragon Restaurant and Bar. He was a part-time employee of Lake Cammack, having started working there May 5, 1998.
In addition to his wife, of the home, Mr. Poole is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Lindy Bakatsias and her husband, Johnny, of Graham; son, Kenneth Poole and his wife, Sherri, of Burlington; daughter, Karen Lowe and her husband, Kenny, of Burlington; stepdaughter, Nancy Korkor, of Snow Camp; stepdaughter, Heather Marie Paul of Snow Camp; stepdaughter, Ashley Nichole Paul of the home; and his grandchildren, Penny Bakatsias, Nick Bakatsias, Justin Poole , Patrick Lowe, Kevin Poole , Cameron Lowe; and a special friend, Kim Toomer of Snow Camp.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at 7 p.m. in the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul Baker. The family will receive friends after the service.
