    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Rachel Christine Wrenn Alexander Daves, 88, of Bidney Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at her home.
    A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Hubert Grant Alexander and the late Clyde C. Daves. Mrs. Daves was the daughter of the late Dolph A. Wrenn and the late Ina Wilkins Wrenn.
    Mrs. Daves was a graduate of Burlington High School and Burlington Business College. She retired from Burlington Industries, Klopman Mills Mayfair Division.
    From her early years until 1978, she was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. She was Junior Department Sunday School Director, Girls Auxiliary leader and a member of the choir. She enjoyed her church family and was always there for the teens in her department.
    In 1978, she joined St. Johns New Mission United Church of Christ, where she remained a faithful member.
    Mrs. Daves is survived by her daughter, Phyllis A. Green and her husband, Cliff, of Graham; one grandson, Jeffrey Norton of Burlington; sister-in-law, Nancy Wrenn; three nephews; two nieces; and special friends, Margaret Vaughn, Betty Lou Perry, Bobbie Willets and Dean and Pat Norton.
    In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen McGuire; and a brother, William Edward Wrenn.
    The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Monday, Jan. 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Rich and Thompson Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Phil Hardy. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
    When not at the funeral home, the family will be at the residence of the daughter, Phyllis Green, 1815 Sonja Court, Graham, NC 27253.
    The family would like to extend a special thanks to Marie Brown and to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell for their special care during Mrs. Daves’ illness.
