Burlington – Etta Eugenia “Jean” Summers Mabe, 90, died on Monday, November 1, 2021 at the Village of Brookwood in Burlington, NC.
She was born in Guilford County to the late William T. and Lola G. Summers and was married to the late Wallace Cornell Mabe, Jr.
She was survived by her sister, Shirley S. Waynick and cousins. Jean was a member of the Beta Club in Gibsonville High School and attended Guilford College.
Jean was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville and the church organist for fifty years. Her life long interest were music and church activities. Jean’s career was in insurance and real estate with Roach Realty for over fifty years, serving as president of the Greensboro Insurance Association one year.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11:00AM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jeff Knutson and Dr. Steve Braswell.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gibsonville, 221 Piedmont Avenue, Gibsonville, NC 27249 or Graham Presbyterian Church, 216 W. Harden Street, Graham, NC 27253 or Authoracare Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215. 256, Jean Summers Mabe
