Harold Marion “Mac” Dowdy
   BURLINGTON, N.C. — Harold Marion“Mac” Dowdy, went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2011 after a yearlong battle with cancer.

   Mac served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a member of Zion Christian Church.

   Survivors include his daughters, Stephanie Ross (Tony) and Mary Dowdy; grandchildren, Macheala Ross and Lauren Ross; and a brother, Ivan Dowdy (Susie)

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Ewell Dowdy and Dorothy “Marie” Hallacheff Dowdy; his wife, Frances Smith Dowdy; and a brother, Johnny Dowdy.

   The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Mc-Clure Funeral Service in Graham and at other times at the residence of Stephanie

   Ross.

   Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the McClure Chapel with the Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Graham Memorial Park.
