Eddie Paul Norris
BOONE — Mr. Eddie Paul Norris, 81, of Burlington, and a former resident of Vilas, passed away Tuesday morning, July 30, 2013, at home.
Born in Watauga County, he was a son of the late Paul and Mona Greer Norris, served two years in the U.S. Army, was a retired engineer with the N.C. Department of Transportation, a member of Boone United Methodist Church, and an associate member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, Greensboro, and held many offi ces in the church during his lifetime.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth “Lib” Clapp Norris; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Newton Norris.
Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Paul Norris were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Boone United Methodist Church, offi ciated by the Rev. Jim Allred, the Rev. Don Wagner and the Rev. George Naff. Masonic graveside services and burial followed at Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens.
