LAST RITES TUESDAY FOR CLARENCE LETHCO

Funeral services for Clarence Edgar Lethco, 48, were conducted Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 26, at the Goodhope church by Rev. D.A. Honeycutt of Ava.

Burial was in the Goodhope cemetery under direction of the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.

Clarence Edgar Lethco, age 48 years and 24 days, was born July 31, 1899, at Roy, Mo., and died Aug. 24, 1947.

On March 24, 1929, he was united in marriage to Velma Jewell Barnes, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George M. Barnes of Rome, Mo.
To this union five children were born, four girls, Dora Jo, Lodena Fern and Nancy Louise, and one infant son, Rodrick Edgar, age two months.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph G. Lethco, one brother, Willie Lethco, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Moore.
Besides his wife and children he is survived by his stepmother, Mrs. Mattie Lethco of Ava; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Marsh of Roy, Mrs. Sarah Adams of St. Joseph, Mo., and Mrs. Sybil Carmichael of Springfield; two brothers, Quentin Lethco and Fred O. Lethco, both of Ava, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was converted at an early age and united with the General Baptist church. (The Douglas County Herald, Ava, MO, Thurs., Aug. 28, 1947, p. 4, Col. 5).
