KING, NC ~ Mrs. Augusta Spainhour Conrad, 78, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007.
She was born March 20, 1928, in Stokes County to William "Bill" Earnest and Glida Garner Spainhour.
She was a member of King Baptist Mission and was retired from Hanes Hosiery.
She is survived by her husband, Esker Ray "Dick" Conrad Sr.; a son, E. R. Conrad Jr. and wife Kathy, two grandsons, Lance and Jacob Conrad; three sisters, Hazel Davis, Becky Wall, and Frances Hill; six brothers, Herbert, Robert, Kenneth, John, W. E., and Clifton Spainhour; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today, Jan. 27, at Slate Funeral Home in King with Brother Johnny Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
