Clifton Curtis Spainhour, age 88, of Tobaccoville passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at his home with his loving family by his side.
Clifton was born February 6, 1930, in Forsyth County to the late William Ernest and Glida Garner Spainhour.
He was a member of Jefferson Christian Church and active in the Young At Heart Ministry of the church. He was involved in the family grading business and had a passion and love for farming. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Pfaff Spainhour, and his brothers and sisters: Herbert Spainhour, W.E. Spainhour, Jr., Augusta Conrad, Hazel Davis, Gertrude Kapp, and Jacqueline Spainhour.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughters: Cathy Pierce (Mark), and Josie Spainhour (Charles); his son, Todd Spainhour (Chastity Drane); sisters: Rebecca Wall and Frances Hill; brothers: Robert Dee Spainhour, Kenneth Spainhour (Dianna), and John Henry Spainhour; seven grandchildren: Scott Pierce, Ben Pierce, Adam Spainhour, Luke Spainhour, Ashley Spainhour, Audrey Spainhour, and Abby Spainhour; ten great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Barbara Westmoreland.
The family will receive friends, from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Jefferson Christian Church, 8200 Jefferson Church Rd., Rural Hall, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM at Jefferson Christian Church with Dr. Mark Pierce and Minister Steve Cook officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson Christian Church, 8200 Jefferson Church Rd., Rural Hall, NC 27045 or to Trellis Supportive Care, 235 North Main St., P.O. Box 863, Walnut Cove, NC 27052.
