Martha Garner Beavers, 82, of Sandy Branch Church Road, Bear Creek died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mrs. Beavers was born in Chatham County on February 22, 1934 the daughter of Guy S. and Erma Mae (Briggs) Garner.
Martha was a member of Meroney United Methodist Church and had worked at Chatham Hospital as a nursing assistant and at The Old Place as a cook.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking and housekeeping. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Beavers; son, James Richard Beavers and her parents.
She is survived by two daughters: Diane Brady and husband, Tony of Siler City and Jackie Britt of Seagrove; one son: Grady Eugene Beavers and wife, Alice of Bear Creek; one sister: Beatrice Cheek of Lake Okeechobee, FL; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 10, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the family home.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Meroney United Methodist Cemetery, 10568 NC Hwy 902, Bear Creek with Rev. Ed Brown and Rev. Bob Wachs officiating.
Smith & Buckner Funeral Home is assisting the family.
