Sarah Lee Garner Southern, 86, of King died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Danbury.
She was born May 21, 1913 in Stokes County to George Clingham and Ada Conrad Garner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilary Southern; and a daughter, Merivale Johnson. Surviving are a daughter, Susan Stewart of Lake Norman; a son, Jerry David Southern of King; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the King Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 at Slate Funeral Home in King.
