LIBERTY - Samuel Woodrow Jones, 50, of Rt 2, Liberty, died this morning at 12:30 o'clock in a Durham hospital following three years of declining health and 10 days of critical illness.

A native of Alamance County, Mr Jones was the son of Onine Jones of Gibsonville, who survives, and the late Mrs Nettie Ross Jones. He was the husband of Mrs Ruby Mae Coble Jones of the home, who survives, and was a member of West Burlington Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and was employed by Burlington Industries as a fixer of looms in the Plaid Division.

Survivors, in addition to his wife and father, include four sisters, Mrs Katherine Martindale of Graham, Mrs Evelyn Burnette of Albemarle, Mrs Mary Lee Pettegrew of Gibsonville and Mrs Betty Overman of Whitsett; and four brothers, Fred Jones of Whitsett, Joe Jones and Bobby Jones, both of McLeansville, and Gene Jones of the U S Marines, stationed in Vietnam.

Final rites will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Pleasant Hill Christian United Church of Christ. The Rev Wayne Garner, pastor, will conduct the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will remain at Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will begin Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, and the family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 o'clock Tuesday night. 3, Samuel Woodrow Jones, 241
