Mrs. Ruby Clapp Pentecost


    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Ruby Clapp Pentecost, 95, of 3504 Kimesville Road, passed away at 3 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
    A native of Alamance County, she was wife of the late Wallace Brown Pentecost and daughter of the late Burney “Bunn” Clapp and Iva Anthony Clapp. She was a former hosiery employee and a caterer, a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church and one of the founders of the Homesteaders of Alamance.
    Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Helton and husband, Bugs, of Burlington; two grandsons; and three great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a brother, Burney A. “B.A.” Clapp.
    Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 29, at Alamance Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Jackson and Pastor Jon Helton officiating.
    The family will receive friends at the residence of Jon Helton, 3309 William Newlin Drive, Graham, following the graveside.
    Memorials may be made to Bellemont United Methodist Church, Youth Fund, 4039 Markwood Drive, Burlington, NC 27215.
