Mrs. Nola Stubblefield Thacker
Mrs. Nola Stubblefield Thacker, 97, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Hospice Home of Alamance.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, at Alamance Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Thacker was born on May 17, 1914 in Guilford County. She was a member of Alamance Presbyterian Church where she was involved in church activities with women of the church. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed professionally for years, including wedding gowns. Nola was always willing to help others and loved her family, especially her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Jesse Neal Thacker, Sr., and parents, John and Sarah Tickle Stubblefield.

Survivors include daughters, Betty Thacker of Virginia, Ann Lewis (Charles) of Whitsett; son, Neal Thacker, Jr. (Linda); grandchild, Lynda Shackelford; great-grandchild, Liana Lewis (Matthew Johnson), and great-great grandchildren, Shelby Gwarek and Andrew Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Forbis & Dick, Pleasant Garden Chapel.
