Obituary Online notes for Robert Louis STUBBLEFIELD
HAMPTON, Va. - Robert Louis Stubblefield, 80, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998.
A native of Greensboro, he had been a Hampton resident since 1942. Mr. Stubblefield retired from NASA in 1975 as an electrical engineering technician after 33 years of service. He was a member and past deacon of Wythe Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Gem and Mineral Society of the Virginia Peninsula.
Mr. Stubblefield is survived by his wife, Helen W. Stubblefield; his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly S. and Ira H.A. Abbott of Newport News; a sister, Nola Thacker of Greensboro; two sisters-in-law, Irene Stubblefield and Janet Thrower, both of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Leslie Abbott and Ira Abbott and his wife, Jan; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home by Dr. Robin Woodell with interment to follow in Veterans Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.470, Robert Louis Stubblefield
