February 7, 1941 ~ February 12, 2025 (age 84)
Barbara Ann Wilson Walton, passed peacefully and crossed the bar on Wednesday, February, 12, 2025 and met up with her George after a short illness.
A native of Alamance County she was the wife of the late George Clifton Walton and daughter of the late Ralph Woodrow Wilson and Clara Virgina Pore Wilson.
She graduated from Walter Williams High School and worked for Joe at Barbour Drugs.
George and Barbara shared 47 years of marriage and raised 2 daughters.
They owned and operated Waltons Show & Sale and Trellis Thrift store. She was the executive secretary of the Bald Head Men of America club. She loved to craft and would share her talent with others, she was great at cross stitching and macrame. Living mainly in Morehead City she loved beach music and loved to dance and have a large time. Barbara loved a good joke and shared many.
She retired from Carteret County Tax office in Beaufort NC. Barbara leaves behind a group of loving friends that she attended art class with she enjoyed their friendships and the therapy. She would always say to her girls “Loved you yesterday, Loved you today and I Love you tomorrow”
She is survived by her daughter Cami Walton and her children Kristine Blackwell and Michael Ekleberry, Jr. daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Koehler and son in law Dan Koehler; grandson Daniel Jordan Koehler; great grandson, Rowan Everett and his mom Kacie; “sister woman” Carol Allen; niece Paige Green and her husband Johnny, Ross and his family, Deborah and her family and many other loving extended family members.
The family will receive friends to celebrate Barbara on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham. The family will have a private burial service. Feel free to join the family for a toast to Barbara immediately after the visitation at the Verdict in Graham until 8:00 pm.
