ELON — William “Willie” Carnell Mansfield, age 70, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at his home. He was a native of Guilford County and the son of the late Cletus Kadell Mansfield and Joy Hall Mansfield.
Willie retired from Associated Transport as a truck driver. He enjoyed collecting things from the past and spending time with family.
Survivors include his daughter, Beverly Hartel and her husband, Kevin, of Gibsonville; granddaughter, Tiffani Morgan Teague of Gibsonville and a grandson, William Chase Teague of Orlando, Florida. He had a special dog named “Snoopy.” He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Mansfield.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Larry Lamberth and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Powerline Church, 701 Manning Ave., Elon, NC 27244.
