Stacy Fisher Clapp

Burlington – Stacy Fisher Clapp, 95, went home to be with Lord on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at her home. She was born in Swain County on April 28, 1922 to the late Thurman Allen and Frankie Cooper Fisher and was the wife of the late Clarence Jay Clapp.

Stacy was a longtime member of Grove Park Baptist Church and retired from Western Electric after many years of service. She was a great cook and loved gardening. Her true joy came in sharing the fruits of her labor with friends and family. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Pat Thompson and husband Ron; son, Jerry Ireland; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00am on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dr. Gene Hunsinger and Rev. David Morton with a private entombment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.

A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Twin Lakes and Hospice for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd, Burlington, NC 27215.
