The Rev. Lacy  C. "Butch" Troxler  Jr.


    BURLINGTON — The Rev. Lacy  C. "Butch" Troxler  Jr., 54, of 711 South Broad Street, Burlington, died at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, on Tuesday, December 19, 2006.
    A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Rhoda M. Troxler , who survives, and the son of Lacy  Carroll Troxler  Sr. and Claudia Clapp Troxler , both deceased. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a graduate of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Springfield, Missouri. While in Seminary, Reverend Troxler  received his Masters of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Biblical Literature. He formerly pastored in Kentucky before returning to Burlington in 1995. At present, he was the Associate Pastor of the Burlington Assembly of God and was involved in all ministries of the church. He was a member of the N.C. District of the Assemblies of God.
    In addition to his wife, survivors include one sister, Lois Troxler  of Burlington; and two brothers, Garland Troxler  and wife, Becky, of Altamahaw and Melvin Troxler  and wife, Kay, of Burlington.
    He was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt, George and Margaret Walton who raised Butch since infancy; two brothers; and three half brothers.
    The funeral will be conducted at the Burlington Assembly of God on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 11 a.m. by Dr. Howard Thompson, and the Rev. Michael Brown. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., and at other times they will be at the residence.
