Fred Phillippe
GIBSONVILLE — Fred Phillippe , 77, of 1284 Springwood Ave., died Thursday, December 21, 2006, at Wesley Long Community Hospital after three years of declining health.
A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late John Marshall Phillippe and the late Flonnie Summers Phillippe , and he was married for over 55 years to Mrs. Nelda Allen Phillippe , who survives. Mr. Phillippe retired from Duke Power after 28 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a charter member of Christian Bible Fellowship, where he served as a deacon, a trustee, choir member and was in the Golden Believers. He was a retired volunteer of the Whitsett Fire Department and was a member of the Whitsett Ruritan Club.
Mr. Phillippe is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Janice P. Clark and her husband, Wesley, of Gibsonville; a granddaughter, Kelli C. Wilt and her husband, Ken, of Lynchburg, Va.; two greatgrandchildren, Christopher and Johnathan Wilt; two sisters, Dewey P. Baldwin of Elon and Dixie P. Howerton of Gibsonville; and a brother, Frank Phillippe and his wife, Lois, of Gibsonville.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 24, 2006, at Christian Bible Fellowship by the Rev. Bruce Readling. Interment will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at his daughter’s home, 1282 Springwood Ave.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Bible Fellowship Building Fund, 1290 Springwood Ave., Gibsonville, N.C. 27249.
