Frances Aldridge Gilliam
BURLINGTON — Frances Aldridge Gilliam , 96, of 5217 Mt. Vernon Church Road, went to be the Lord on Thursday, May 31, 2007, at the Hospice Home of Burlington, after several year of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of 58 years to the late Odell Gilliam , and the daughter of the late Charles Aldridge and Lessie Lee Aldridge. She was a school teacher, a homemaker, and a lifelong member of Union Ridge Church. She was in many church activities and was elected Church Mother of the Year in 2002.
Survivors include a son, Charles Gilliam and wife, Linda, of Burlington; grandchildren, Charlene Hitzke, Michael Gilliam and wife, Tammy, Carol Ann White, and Brian Gilliam and wife, Carissa; stepgrandchildren, Elana O’ Bryan and husband, John, and Ralph Halacheff and wife, Jennifer; two great-grandchildren; and seven greatstepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; and one brother. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Union Ridge Church by the Rev. James L. Rosser. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Union Ridge Church fellowship hall from 6 until 8 p.m. this evening, and at other time they will be at the residence.
