Ida Iseley “Biddie” Overby REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Ida Iseley “Biddie” Overby, 92, died Monday, March 10, 2014, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in Reidlawn Cemetery.
A native of Alamance County, she was a daughter of the late Clem Wade and Alma Keck Iseley and had lived in Reidsville most of her life.
She, along with her late husband John Overby, founded and operated Short Sugar’s until her retirement. Mrs. Overby was a member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church, the Mamie Clack Circle at her church, the Garden Gate Garden Club and the Reidsville Women’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Sara Stanfi eld and Ollie Mae Andrews
Surviving are daughters, Leatrice O. Wilson and husband David of Leasburg, Carolyn O. Key and husband Kerry of Reidsville and Diane O. Gentry and husband Terry of Blowing Rock and Orlando, Fla.; sister, Lydia Berry and husband Jennings of Elon; brotherin-law, Vernon Andrews of Burlington; fi ve grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In keeping with Mrs. Overby’s wishes, there will be no formal visitation and memorials may be made to Greenwood Presbyterian Church, 618 Narrow Gauge Road, Reidsville, NC 27320 or the John A. Overby Scholarship, c/o RCC Foundation, P.O. Box 38, Wentworth, NC 27375.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Fagan and his staff and also Deonne, Kim, and Bonnie for their love and care.
