BURLINGTON — Donald Lee Rogers , 74, of Everette St., died on Thursday, February 15, 2007, at the Hospice Home. He was born in Alamance County, son of the late Albert Hoyt and Bessie Rippy Rogers . Donald was a Christian, a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. He loved spending time with his family as his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and very proud of his country. He was a conscientious employee of Glen Raven Mills, where he retired.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Allen Preddy of McLeansville and Jodi and Ricky Moody of Burlington; grandchildren, Robert Christopher Hurst, Kathryn Michelle Hurst and Jacob Daniel Danieley; stepgrandchildren, Christopher Neal Moody and Dustin Lee Moody; and a brother, H. M. "Mike" Rogers of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy Lee Rogers and David Anthony Rogers ; a brother, Jack Gilbert Rogers ; and his parents.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2007, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Darrell Massey. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 this evening, and other times at 204 Brighton Drive, Elon.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
