Melba Ruth (Smith) Fogleman
April 4, 1958 ~ March 17, 2022 (age 63)
Melba Ruth Smith Fogleman, 63, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday March 17, 2022 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was born on April 4, 1958 in North Albemarle, North Carolina.
Melba was a hard-working woman with a heart of gold. She was a skilled administrative assistant for many years. In her free time, Melba enjoyed shag dancing, visiting Santee Cooper, walking and fishing on the pier, watching her shows and visiting the beach. Melba loved to have a good time and was always the life of the party. Above all else, Melba loved her family with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Melba’s memory are her adoring husband of over 43 years, Mr. Horace Wayne Fogleman; their daughter, Angelic “Angel” Starr Fogleman Kennedy and fiancé’ Chris of Murrells Inlet; stepchildren, Thomas "Tommy" Wayne Fogleman and wife, Taynesia of Myrtle Beach & Pamela Jean Fogleman of Myrtle Beach; her mother, Mildred Dimont Smith; grandchildren, Travis Wayne Kennedy, USN, Tyler Keith Kennedy, Jaxson Levi Kennedy, Christy Michelle Jones, & Evan Keith Charles; three great-grandchildren; sister, Pamela Wrenn and her husband, J.V. Wrenn, their children, Mickey Wrenn and wife Betsy & Amanda Rule and husband, Sam; nieces, Bonnie Raver and husband, Nate & Tiffany Easter and husband, Brian; as well as several great-nieces & nephews, cousins, a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
Melba is reunited in passing with her father, Johnnie Hubert Smith, brother, Douglas Smith; nephew, Buddy Hamlett; son-in-laws Bruce Kennedy & Keith Charles; grandparents, Richard Roy & Ruth Bryant Dimont & Lester & Mattie Belle Mckinney Smith.
A Celebration of Melba’s life will be held on Saturday April 2, 2022 at 12:00PM at Low Country Community Church (LC3), 4430 Murrells Inlet Rd, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
