Lois Haney Burke
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Lois Haney Burke , 77, of 2239 Lacy Street, Burlington, died at Edgewood Place of Burlington on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 11:30 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Norman L. "Spider" Burke , who survives, and the daughter of Franklin Haney and Mae Kimbro Haney Layton, both deceased. She was a retired bookkeeper for an electrical company, and a charter member of Beverly Hills United Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Patti Burke Foster and Rebecca Burke , both of Durham; one grandson, Andrew Burke Foster of Wilmington; and one brother, Melvin Haney of Burlington.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Lois Haney Burke will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Rosser Clapp. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 until 8 this evening, and at other times they will be at the residence.
