Harold Curtis Flinchum
LIBERTY — Mr. Harold Curtis Flinchum , 75, went to join his wife with the Lord Saturday, April 14, 2007.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Livingston, and the Rev. Don Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Flinchum was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. In 1961, Mr. Flinchum was awarded the Theodore N. Vail Bronze Medal for his courage in the rescue of a drowning man. He was the co-founder and president of Reid’s Trailer Inc. for 42 years. A loved member of the community, he was always ready to help anyone. He enjoyed farming and hunting. He was especially proud of his lake in Liberty. Mr. Flinchum dearly loved his family and was a friend to all.
Mr. Flinchum was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Doris Moore Flinchum ; parents, Elmer and Minnie Flinchum ; brothers, Davis Flinchum , Glenn Flinchum ; and sister, Martha Ann Isley.
Mr. Flinchum is survived by his sons, Mitchell Scott Flinchum and wife, Teri, of Liberty, Rodney Brent Flinchum of Wilmington; sisters, Lucy Lee Clapp and husband, Charlie, of Julian, Nancy Lou Routh and husband, Wayne, of Liberty; and grandchildren, Peyton and Graham Flinchum .
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty.
