Katherine Hill Brooks 


    BURLINGTON — Katherine Hill Brooks , 87, formerly of Thompson Mill Road, passed away at 5 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2007, at the Hawfield’s Presbyterian Home.
    A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late George Paul Brooks  and daughter of Oliver Ernest Hill  and Mamie Lee Patton Hill , both deceased. Katherine  formerly worked in the textile industry and was a member of Victory Chapel Wesleyan Church. Her civic involvement included being a member of the Women of the Moose where she was an ex-senior Regent.
    She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Patsy Fitch and her husband Sonny and Mrs. Yvonne Dodson, all of Burlington; three sisters, Edna Ramey, Faye Williams and Doris McCrickard; three granddaughters, Cindy Wilson, Amy Coleman and Lisa Dodson; five great-grandchildren, Shawn Tomb, Chris Tomb, Caroline Coleman, Shane Coleman and Jerry Coleman; and one great-great-grandchild, Makayla Coleman. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William L. Hill .
    The funeral service will be held at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Raeford Brimm. The burial will follow at Pine Hill  Cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence of Amy Coleman, 1015 North Graham-Hopedale Road, Burlington.
    The family would like to send a special "Thank You" to the staff of Hawfield’s Presbyterian Home for the kind and gentle care given to Katherine .
