Mr. Ray Lynn Whitesell, 43, of Reidsville, died Sunday, August 13, 2006, at Anne Penn Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11am Wednesday, at Fairview Baptist Church, with the Reverend Heath Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mr. Whitesell was born in Guilford Co., August 26, 1962, to the late Roy Whitesell and Ruby Pegram Whitesell. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Randy Whitesell and three sisters Rachel Marie Strader, Rita Faye McQueen, and Rosemary Whitesell.
Mr. Whitesell attended Fairview Baptist Church in Reidsville. He was actively involved up until the time of his illness in the Boys Scouts for 11 years. Ray was an assistant Scout Master at the time of his death. He was employed by NC DOT in Reidsville. He was an outdoorsman where he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. Ray was a loving husband, father, and brother. He will be dearly missed by many.
Mr. Whitesell is survived by his wife, Susan Whitesell, of the home; son Casey Whitesell of the home; brothers Richard Morris Whitesell and wife Louise, Leroy Edward Whitesell and wife Clara, Roger Wayne Whitesell, Ronnie Dee Whitesell, and Ralph Eugene Whitesell and of Greensboro; Numerous nieces and nephews; and many many close and special friends.
The family will received friends from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday at Fairview Baptist Church, 2531 Flatrock Rd. Reidsville, NC 27320. And other times at the home of Susan Whitesell.
