HIGH POINT — Robert "Bobby" James Roorback of Archdale went to be with Our Lord on Saturday, August 18, 2007, at the age of 49. Bobby was born in Indiana, Penn. to James F. and Joyce J. Roorback of Mount Airy and grew up in Burlington. Bobby was known for his selfless nature and constant willingness to give to others. He was always a source of laughter and joy for his family. An avid lover of the outdoors he often found his joy and fulfillment while fly fishing with his brother Fred or golfing with his Dad. Still nothing was more important to him than the time he shared with his loving wife Beci. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca "Beci" Callicutt Roorback of the home; parents, James F. and Joyce J. Roorback of Mount Airy; sister, Julie Roorback Woody and husband Robin of Burlington, with nieces Jill Fine and Jodie Hedrick; brother, Fred Roorback and wife Teresa of Bothell, Wash., with nephews Alex and Eric; sister, Patty Roorback Jones of Greensboro, with nephews Dillon and Patrick Jones; sister, Laurie Roorback Converse and husband Matthew of the Outer Banks of N.C. He is loved by an extended group of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at 4 p.m. at the Burlington Assembly of God at 821 Tucker St. The family will receive guests at the church immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Lung Association of North Carolina or a charity of your choice.
