Robert Lee Ingle 


    WINSTON-SALEM — Robert Lee Ingle , 68, of Winston-Salem died Saturday, January 12, 2008. Bob was born January 19, 1939, in Whitsett, N.C., the son of Lee  Homer and Macy Johnson Ingle . He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judith Renfro Ingle ; two sons, Richard Lee  of Durham, N.C. and Gordon Robert  of Los Angeles, Calif.; three brothers, Larry Ingle  (Becky) of Chattanooga, Tenn., Stephen Ingle  (Sherry) and Gwyn Ingle  (Cindy), both of Gibsonville, N.C.
    Bob grew up in Guilford County and graduated from Bessemer High School in Greensboro in 1956. He was a photo interpreter in the United States Air Force from 1956 – 1960. He attended Appalachian State University and graduated from UNCChapel Hill in 1963 with a BS degree in Mathematics. He began his career working on Project Apollo at Wallops Island, Virginia and retired in 1995 as a Systems Programmer from N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Bob will be remembered as a lover of nature’s plants and wildlife, a skilled woodworking craftsman, and an avid family researcher and genealogist.
    A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Springwood Presbyterian Church in Whitsett, N.C. at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008.
    Family visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall. Interment is at Springwood Church cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to UNC Lineberger Cancer Center, attn.: Candace Clark, UNC-CH, P.O. Box 309, Chapel Hill, N.C. 27514 or to a charity of choice.
