Obituary Online notes for Jeremiah P. HOLT
Location - Jeremiah burial and Catherine Albright Holt's plots were located originally on the south of I-85 west of Burlington and east of 145. They were in a grove of trees on a hill in the rear of the John Anthony home place.

Mr. Anthony, 95 years of age in 1958, said the land adjacent to the cemetery was the site of the original Providence Christian Church, which was later moved to what is now Graham, NC. This seems improbable although it is of some interest to historians because the name of the church in Graham was the New Providence Christian Church (prior to being changed in recent years to the New Providence United Church of Christ.) This indicated the existence of a previous church somewhere. However it is more reasonable to suppose that this was a family cemetery on ancestral land.

In 1964, the land on which the burial plot was located was acquired by Burlington Industries. The graves were removed to the New Providence Cemetery, under the supervision of W. Clary Holt, a descendant of Jeremiah and Catherine Holt, in order that the industrial plant which stands on the site today could be constructed.

Some information found on Ancestry.com suggests his death year is 1817 although on the stone it really looks like an 1847. 470, Jeremiah P Holt
