Rites Held Today For Mrs Coble

Final rites for Mrs Espie Clapp Coble, 85, of 72? S Broad St were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at Macedonia Lutheran Church.

Mrs Coble, who taught for many years in Alamance and Guilford County Schools, died at her home Saturday night at 11 o'clock following several years of failing health.

A native of Guilford County, she was a daughter of the late John E and Harriett Clapp. She was the widow of the late Robert A Coble, founder of R A Coble Hardware Co, who died in January 1962. She was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a son Wade G Coble of Burlington. [sic, he was a stepson]

The funeral service was conducted by the Rev Hoyle L Whiteside, pastor of Macedonia Lutheran Church. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery. 241
